This is a simple and fun 8 bit rpg. Generally it should be self explainitary. Explore. If you're not sure where to head, here's a summary:
- Head north to the 'foul dungeon'.
- Back to the start and sell all excess items.
- South west to the 'Grey Citadel'
- North west to 'Guula's Fortress'. You need to go around the mountain range to the north to get there.
- Back east to 'Bridgetown' from where you can sail to 'Bane Island'
- North east to the 'Underground'
- South to 'Legend Hall'
- South to the fabled 'Tomb of Ashes'
- West to the 'home of the ancient dragon Braka'. Your party will need to be at least level 12 to defeat Braka. I have done it at level 11, but I think that was lucky. Jeremy has reported that he's won at level 10, well done!
Once you have defeated Braka you get Braka's Wand, but don't think you get to use it on anything useful. No fancy fanfare, you've finished the game.
Tips:.
Note: The buy and sell are only guides for comparison against other items. This can be useful when deciding which items to drop while in dungeons. Each shop has different prices. Many towns have multiple shops. Find the one with the cheapest prices to buy from, and the one with the dearest prices to sell to. I have not included the + items, there would simply be too much information.
- At the start, spend all your money arming your party.
- Walking around, both in the wild and in dungeons, will restore health and mana. Unless your party is extremely low, do not waste money and time returning to towns to heal. Every 20 moves will heal 1pt (HP and SP)
- Always leave a couple of inventory spots for items. You don't want to find a high + item and not be able to give it to anyone. Use the tables here to get an idea of the less valuable items to drop.
- Don't expose maps, a large part of the fun is discovery. You will also pickup invaluable experience and items for your party by exploring everywhere.
